My hard drive no longer can be booted up. I have a new computer and took the old hard drive out and put it into an external hard drive enclosure and after a while you can see the files on the drive. I have retrieved a lot of information. Sometimes it will go fast, but it will usually slow way down, but if you leave it alone and come back after a while I usually have my information back. My problem is all my emails that I need are still on the drive. I downloaded the latest Thunderbird email program and have it up and running on the new computer, but I would like to retrieve those emails that I have saved. I know they are there, but don't know how to get them out. Help please.

having a new Thunderbird running makes the issue more complex and the old profile folders can not be used to simply replace what is on the new disk. Or can they?

Make sure windows is set to display hidden and system files. on the old drive the will most likely be <Driveletter>:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\Thunderbird but this location is dependent of the version of windows that created the location.

You could use the import export add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ to import mail from that folder and it's sub folders to get any mail in any profile. But you might have to click continue on the javascript if there are a lot of mails being moved.
