I cannot change A/V settings because of group policy. This ONLY happens on FF, not Chrome, not MSIE. Is there any way to get around this problem by ONLY changing FF settings?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Local support solved the issue. There was an SSL change inside the firewall and because FF doesn't use the same cert DB that IE and Chrome do, it didn't get the new certificate that was required. Support imported it for me and problem is resolved. Thanks for your responses

hello, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a solution depends on the individual circumstances:

  • what is the error code shown when you click on advanced on that error page?
  • please also give us more information about the error by clicking on the error code, copying the text to the clipboard and then pasting it here into a reply in the forum.

thank you!

This laptop is on a corp network so the time is sync'd to a time server and is correct.

I get error code Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER when I click on advanced but when I click on CONFIRM EXCEPTION, nothing happens. We recently switched from Symantec A/V to Trend Micro A/V but I cannot change the local A/V settings.

I also have a support request in to our help desk but I since other browsers do not have this issue and our supported browser is unfortunately MSIE, I may not get help there. I have been using FF for 6 years in this environment and this issue has only happened recently, coinciding with the AV change I believe. I do not want to stop using FF but I may have to if this issue cannot be solved within FF settings alone.
