Firefox only recognising filename up to first space in name?

Hi all, I accepted an update to Firefox this week and have a strange problem that my manager first discovered. We download a lot of pdf files, and on her PC FF was not recognising it was a pdf file and just download the file with no extension and only the first part of the filename up to the first space in the filename.

I tried it on mine, and whilst FF would recognise it was a pdf and asked me which program to open it, when it downloaded I also had the very shortened filename, so 'Firefox Help manual.pdf' would be Firefox and also 'Firefox Basic Starter Kit.pdf' would be Firefox(1)

In fact any file (docx or pdf) that has spaces in it has the same problem I've downloaded a file from a BT site that has no spaces in the filename and that is downloaded and named correctly.? I've uploaded that and redownloaded and it works fine, so there is some issue with any file that has a space in the filename?

Any advise please?

TIA
