My Firefox plug in fails constantly. It has failed 6 times since I started writing this message. It is impossible to do anything with this issue, especially when it completely resets all of my saved usernames, passwords, and logins every time it happens. It also does not show up as a crash, so according to the crash reports, I haven't had any failures in over a week.

This issue will cause me to cease using Firefox in favor of literally any other browser. I'm a college student who does most of his work online, and I have lost hours of work due to this problem. When Firefox works, I am more than happy to use it. But I won't be able to if this problem persists.

How does this manifest this? Do you get a plugin has crashed message on the web page?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
