I can't get my computer to install updates
I click on update. It says update complete but it doesn't update.

What are you trying to update? Go to the web site that owns the program.
When I get update notice for Firefox/Mozilla. I click on it. It says it has downloaded but it hasn't.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop

- Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded

Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data like bookmarks when you uninstall and (re)install or update Firefox.
I don't know how to reinstall it. My nephew set up my computer & I'm not computer savy. I'm afraid I won't be able to reinstall it. That it will get lost. I know I sound pretty dumb but my nephew is no longer around to do it... Guess I'll just have to keep going for now...Thank You. Just wish I knew more what I was doing.
