I have an iPhone 4S & Windows XP SP-3. I can backup all my photos to iCloud & also want to back them up to a special folder on my computer. (Because I'm using Windows XP, I can't import the photos directly using AutoPlay, as far as I know). Most of the photos are .jpg or .jpeg, but there are also .png & videos (.mov).

When I select all my photos in iCloud & try to download them, I have to click "Save" each time. This will take forever. Even when I try it, at some point it quits. How can I download all these photos to my computer without having to click "Save" in a dialog box each time?

Thank you,

I don't use iCloud, but it sounds as though the site "pushes" each individual image to you as a download. Is that how it's working -- you don't need to right-click > Save Image As... on each one?

Assuming you normally have Firefox ask you where to save downloads, you could switch that off and have Firefox use a single folder for downloads while this process runs. You can set that on the Options page here: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

Does that work?

Hi Jefferson: Thanks for the response. (Are you the same jscher2000 that used to be in Woody's Lounge??? If so, I was a moderator there also.)

Anyhow, I always have Firefox save files to my download folder, but it kept asking me each time to click "Save" in that dialog box that asks if you want to save or open (even though I clicked "Automatically do this with files of this type from now on".

But maybe there's a setting in some option somewhere, where I can, at least temporarily have it automatically save.

Hi phrab, that's me. It's been a long time since I visited, although I refer people with some kinds of questions regularly.

I can't think of any other Firefox settings to "just always save the file" but in past threads some add-ons might have been suggested.

Not sure whether the reference to a "moment" in the following thread is helpful: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/190713/how-can-i-backup-everything-from-icloud-photo-library-on-windows

Hi Jefferson: I solved it by using Chrome. This is what I did: Use Chrome Login to iCloud/Pictures/Albums/Select Pictures Click top left or bottom right, go to other end & shift click to select all Then download & wait Go to download folder & move them all to Pictures/subfolder

It's great to hear from you again. -- Phil
