Firefox just updated itself to esr 38.2.0, and when I type in the awesome bar, it doesn't bring up existing addresses anymore.

For example. I used to type s in the bar, and it would show slashdot.org, as it was the most common s I visited. Now it's just totally blank.

This is intolerable. what broke?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

The appearance of the location bar settings in Options/Preferences has changed from a drop-down list to radio buttons. I don't know if there is specific migration code involved with this change because the underlying browser.urlbar.suggest.* prefs haven't changed. If other urlbar prefs have been modified from the default then this could have caused it. Installed extensions can also have caused such a change.

A browser.urlbar.suggest.history.onlyTyped pref got added and Firefox 41 version will have a browser.urlbar.suggest.searches pref (the next ESR version will have this).

browser.urlbar.suggest.history
browser.urlbar.suggest.history.onlyTyped (36)
browser.urlbar.suggest.bookmark
browser.urlbar.suggest.openpage
browser.urlbar.suggest.searches (41)

Bug 530209 - Prefs UI for what to suggest in location bar isn't friendly to additional items/combination

Well, somehow firefox managed to turn off history in location bar settings, all on its own. Nice.

Is it worth a bug report? It's definitely a bug.
