HTML5 media does not work out of the box (even WebM & OGV).
Video playback (and maybe audio) is not working at all. All tests from http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/graphics/videoformatsupport/default.html and similar failed. (Google Chrome passed all) Even opening video in separate tab -- just spinner and that's all.
Tried all from support forum: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues Tried some other stuff from web. Tried profile deletion, fresh reinstall several times, nothing works.
Plugins list attached.

Did you try safe mode ? There might be some ad-on which cause glitches.Go to Open Menu > Open Help Menu > Restart with Add-on Disable .
Now Start with add-on disable and Restart Firefox . Again test the link .
Read [ http://mzl.la/1xKrE7R ]
PS: The test runs successfully on windows 8/8.1 x64 .
Sure, I've tried that. Moreover, this was the first thing, I've done, before profile wiping. And for addons, there is tech info, for that moment I had none, it was fresh install.
Are there any media.*.enabled prefs that show user set (bold) on the about:config page?
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Any error messages in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) that are related to media files?
Just in case, here is all, that is changed.
The third image is about console logs. Chrome debug mode enabled, enabled exception catching in debugger.

What version of Windows are you running? I think newer versions of firefox with some older versions of Windows is what's causing the problem. My Windows Vista just recently stopped playing Vines and tumblr videos. Flash videos still work fine.
A Windows 8.1 in my house running firefox 35 plays stuff just fine.
Have you viewed tech info? I'm running win 7 x64 Professional (genuine, activated, updated) on a couple of my machines. And this problem is connected with the specific computer, and I want to know the right solution to move back to Firefox. I want to know the exact thing causing this. It may be a specific plugin, a dll in my path, an update from Microsoft for my specific hardware, I want this information. I'm not a noob and can deal with many problems, but this specific issue is somewhat connected with the internals of Firefox itself. I repeat: I had wiped everything from firefox installation and settings, and reinstalled it completely. The problem is still there.
This machine is protected by AVG, just in case of silly questions, no untrusted software ever executed, some other precautions have been made.

When I run Web Console on the test page I get these two errors (picture attached). It looks as if whatever firefox is using to decode certain video formats (in this case mp4s) is failing to decode them for playing. When I open the direct link to the video files, firefox tells me "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt." so something with the decoder seems to be acting funny. The only video I can get to load on the test page is the WebM one. H.264 high profile and H.264 baseline profile do not work.
It seems you have a different problem. See if OpenH264 is installed in plugins.

Yep, it's in there and set to "always activate". I even tried making a new firefox profile and it didn't help. One thing I haven't done yet though is uninstall/reinstall firefox, and I don't really feel like doing that unless I have to.

Why not? Your profile is already wiped, and it is not very difficult to reinstall FF. Even if you're clever enough to open new profile without deleting the existing one, try to backup the profile folder and you're done to save all your precious settings etc and reinstall totally fresh instance.
When I said I tried making a new profile, I meant I opened the profile manager and made a new one (didn't delete my original one). I took my original profile over to another PC where everything was fine and tested it on there. My profile isn't the problem thankfully.
I downloaded the firefox 35 setup and made a backup of my profile just in case the installation would delete it for some reason, which it didn't. After reinstalling, the problem is still there, so I'm not sure what is happening here. If it helps, I didn't bother uninstalling first... Just figured it wouldn't really matter since everything gets overwritten anyway.
