I have got a ZTE Open C (with the ZTE firmware) and am wondering how I can update apps I have downloaded from the marketplace (when new versions become available).

It seems that the "Update Software" option has been removed from the Settings app and instead there is a separate Software Update app, but this only seems to update the operating system, but not any apps downloaded from the marketplace. I don't even get any notifications that updates are available (although I know for sure that there are updated versions for some apps available). The only option so far appears to be to uninstall an app and manually re-install it again. Am I missing anything?

Hi cmeerw,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the update process for apps downloaded from the Marketplace. Thank you for reporting this issue.

This issue has been reported in the past, and I opened a bugzilla ticket #1030626 to track this issue.

However, I would also suggest contacting the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) directly for support, since this is a device-specific issue. The OEM is able to make modifications to the Firefox OS code, and it seems that there may be a bug present in the system that only the manufacturer is able to resolve.

Please let us know if you are able to contact the manufacturer, or if your problem is resolved.

Thanks,

- Ralph

Thanks, I have now contacted ZTE via ztedevices.com - let's see if they'll bother responding...

So got a not very helpful response from ZTE saying:

"Please contact the local dealer where you purchased the device to or network operator to consult."
