I can see downloads but can't open them

I downloaded two zip files yesterday, I see them listed under the green arrow, top right, but can't open them. downloaded something else today and that opens straight away when i click on it. Using Windows 7, Firefox 28.0

hello, when you choose in the download dialog to open a file instead of saving it (which will put it into the designated download folder of your OS), it will be downloaded into a temporary directory where it will get deleted after a short amount of time. you could go into the downloads section of the library, right-click the affected zip files, copy their link-locations and try to download them again by entering the copied url into the address bar.
