Firefox Sync Wrong Recovery Key
So yesterday I went out and my dad wanted to work on my computer. When I came back all of my bookmarks were gone, but this has happened before and I have my firefox sync account so I thought I could just get everything back. I've done it twice before, once when I had to switch to this computer and another time when the bookmarks got deleted for some other reason. Both times everything came back easily and without a problem.
When I saw my bookmarks were gone I immediately went to my sync account to get them back, but it told me wrong recovery key. It's the same key I've used twice before and I have no idea what's wrong. I've tried every possible thing that google has told me to do and nothing has worked. I even went to check my profile to find my bookmarks if my sync account wasn't going to give them to me but it would seem that my previous profile from days past seem to all be gone as well. It's showing only a default profile and I have even checked the "don't hide folders" button and nothing is coming up. My dad told me all he did was reinstall drivers and yet it seems that everything went wrong with my booksmarks at once. Some help would be great because I'm just curious as to how everything went wrong with recovering bookmarks/history at once. Thank you!

Hi momoi1011, First, I am sorry that bookmarks are missing. If sync is not accepting the recovery key see the bottom. If not, I am sorry but they may be gone. I provided the instructions for recovering just in case you did find the issue while troubleshooting.
Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
- Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
- Click the Firefox button to open the menu and click on Bookmarks.
- Click the Bookmarks menu and click on Show All Bookmarks.
- At the top of the Library window, click the "Import and Backup" menu and select Restore.
- Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
- In the new window that appears, click OK.
- Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.

If this is not an option since the Firefox Sync recovery is not working, it is possible to check the sync error logs if there are any. "about:sync"
