that puts me back to the same sites. The profile folder only shows 9/21 and 9/22 as backups. I need the back up from prior to that time ie: prior to the crash.

As I said I need the back up from prior to the crash. The site you gave me only shows 9/21 and 9/22. I have tried all of these options that are on that page

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

There would normally 10 JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.
If you have less then check that Firefox didn't create a new profile at some time.

I did find the JSON files.

Here is the stream. L click Firefox icon>Bookmarks>Import and Backup>Restore> chose file>Libraries>bookmark backups> chose date

I also found "old firefox data" >rwvhfiz8.default> bookmark backups.

It all worked.
