Why is Firefox configured to use a proxy server on my computer ?
Recently while trying to sign on I received a message stating " proxy server refusing connection." I did not know that I had a proxy server.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

I also have this problem, and I tried the suggested solution of going into Tools>Options>Advanced>Network (tab)>Settings (button)>Select "No Proxy">Click OK.
