Safe mode is a diagnostic feature of Firefox to be used temporarily. It disables the installed Extensions and themes (Appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also disabled. Once you exit safe mode and start Firefox in the normal way, Firefox starts normally again. You can try the normal mode and disable the suspicious extensions in groups or individually, Restart Firefox and check. To check for hardware acceleration problems, you can disable/enable it manually in normal mode via Tools > Options > Advanced > General: Use hardware acceleration when available. Options > Advanced
