I don't have any of my bookmarks and the guy who worked on my computer said he knew what he was doing and I paid him a lot of money. Is there a way that I can get my bookmarks back?

I have had FireFox for years and the guy who built my computer put it on. If I need a password or log in information I have no idea what it is.

I appreciate any help I can get. There will be no way I can recreate most of them.

Thanks, Frank

Unless you have a backup or used sync (or similar service like XMarks) they are gone.

Go to the person who reformatted your computer. Ask if he made a backup file for your bookmarks. If he did, get that file, and import that file into firefox.

If he did not make a backup file, there is nothing you can do to recover the bookmarks. Formats wipe everything (everything) off the harddrive, and off the top of my head i do not think firefox makes any online backups.

The silver lining is that most websites have a "Forgot your password/username?" button on the log-in page, and you can use that to recover/remember/rebuild your passwords and usernames for most websites.
