I have 8.0 but keep getting warnings that it's now the updated Firefox.

Gmail, Shockwave and even Mozilla sites say I don't have the most recent version of Firefox. But I have version 8.0. It says so in Firefox Help/About. Why is it reading version 3.0.11?
