I have Mac 10.4.11 and Firefox 2.0. I can't upgrade to 4.0 so want to try 3.x. Can't find earlier versions than 4.x. Can I get some help? Now I've managed to mess it up so that I've lost Firefox 2.0 app! Recent attempts to view certain web sites want me to upgrade Firefox.

That is correct on a Mac you must have an Intel chip. 

latest of  Firefox 3.  Mac OSX 10.4 users can't upgrade to 4.0.1
