Programatically create/manipulate bookmarks.

Hi, I am creating a small application/widget which has a feature for creating the bookmarks for different browsers. This is just a concept am trying to implement not for any commercial purpose.

I tried searching about this and found that it uses the Places Sqllite file for storing this information. However finding it little difficult to understand.

As I research on this issue, wanted to know if there is any API which is made available for users to use it it applications to create/edit bookmarks.

You'd be better off posting your question on the dedicated add-ons forum @ https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/

However, before you go there, make sure you update Firefox to 3.6.17 at the very least. They won't take you seriously if you turn up using the version you have installed at the moment which is 3.6.6
