copying pictures from Desktop to disc using Mozilla Firefox as my browser

more options

My name is Patsy Davis and I live in Charlotte, N.C. I recently changed my browser to Mozilla Firefox because the Internet was giving me problems and wanted me to upgrade to Internet 8, but I didn't want to. I learned about Mozilla Firefox from a friend so I did an online search for this browser, found it and downloaded it. I am having problems copying Elvis Presley pictures that I get from e-mails on Yahoo.com and copying them to a disc in my DVD drive. I didn't have this problem on the Internet, but I am losing my Elvis pictures on Mozilla. How do I copy a picture from my Desktop to a DVD? The picture does not copy. All I get are letters. Please advise ASAP.

What you want to do is download the pictures from the email onto your computer first.

Yahoo has a how-to that explains how to download pictures from email: http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/cg/mail/cg_attachments4.html Go down to the place where it says "To download just some of the images to your computer, first click the check box in front of each picture that you want."

When you download the pictures, the default place for them to be saved on your computer is in the "downloads" folder inside of you "my documents" folder. If you want them to save onto your Desktop instead, you can change where firefox saves file.

To change where firefox saves files, you need to go under your firefox "Options" menu. If you have a big, bright orange button in the upper left corner of your firefox that says firefox with a little white triangle pointing down, click on that button on the right-hand-side of the box that opens there is something that says "options". Click on that.

If you do not have a big orange button, you probably have the normal menus at the top. you should see File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help at the top in the upper left. If you do, click on "Tools" and choose "options".

Now, you should have a box open with lots of settings. At the top of that box are a number of tabs that have icons on them. on the far left (top left corner) of that box is one that says "general" with a light-switch sort of icon. Click on that. (it may not do anything when you click on it. If it doesn't, that is ok. It means you already have that section open.)

In the middle of that box, under the General section, should be a section with the title "downloads". There is a line there that says "Save files to:" and then has a white box with the name of a folder in it, and then a button that says "browse". The folder probably says "downloads". If so and you want to change where it saves your pictures so that it saves them to your desktop, click on the "browse" button. It will bring up a box with all your folders and places in it. Click on the one that says "desktop" (in windows XP, this is the top-most place on the list. I'm not sure if it is the same in Windows Vista; I don't have a computer with Vista, and my Windows 7 laptop is at home.). Then click on "ok" to close this box. Next, click on "ok" on the box that came up when you clicked on "options". Now your pictures are going to save to your desktop.

Next, transfer the pictures on your desktop to the DVD using a DVD making program, or by dragging the files to the DVD.
