I have a slow internet connection and every time FireFox does a update to add more - Apps-, or pop-up type, moving adds, my pc slows down. I have a 2002 Pc that is running WindowsXP , I can't afford a new pc and all these updates are jamming me up..... Is there a basic FireFox without all the extras??

You can always disable any addons that you are not using. Use Tools -> Add-ons

I often use an old slow XP myself usually without major problems.

Progress is such that browsers will tend to become faster, but will also tend to need higher powered machines. A 2002 machine is bound to struggle with a lot of modern software.

If for instance you disable your FlashPlayer (shockwave) that will prevent firefox using some animations/videos and almost certainly speed up some page loads. Use Tools -> Add-ons.

You could also consider turning off use of javascript Use Tools -> options

That also allows you to turn off automatic image loading and block some popups.
