I have "delete after 90 days" ticked and also "clear history when firefox closes is unticked". It seems to delete everything when I turn computer off. I only have the currents day's history there while it's on.

You can look at these prefs on the about:config page. http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data) http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90)

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Sorry I'm not very technical, guess I'm stuck with the problem.

Same as OP, firefox 3.6.3 and WinXP Sp3 English.

History is 7 days, 'clear on exit' is off and still it shows only todays history.

I did get into the "about:config" menu, but the settings for the history in there were correct as well. I even tried changing it back to the "default" setting from "user" but no luck. Could you tell me what the settings should be?

I noticed that everytime i closed the browser, the history of the current day was gone as well, even though the option 'clear History when firefox closes' was turned off.

I manually turned them off in about:config by making them false

Privacy.ClearOnShutdown.Cache etc and switched from 'Use Custom Settings' to 'Remember History'

and it seems that firefox no longer clears the history upon closing. It is strange however that it does not seem to use the settings set in the Tools -> Options -> Privacy Custom settings

This is not a problem for all firefox users in our enterprise though, and for now an isolated incident.

Hope the above helps some people as well.
