filter won't run

i have made a filter to delete all messages before a certain date but it won't run. Help!

Maybe if you post a screenshot of the filter setting, it may generate some suggestions.

It turns out that I was just impatient. I needed to delete about 5000 emails. It just took a little while. Thanks.
