The memory usage spikes randomly when switching (not opening up new) tabs. The usage usually comes down after 10-20 seconds, but it may or may not drop back to previous levels. I rarely have 10+ tabs open at the same time. My average "normal" memory usage is ~500 MB, and the average spike peak is 2-3 GB. However, if the normal usage is ~2 GB it can spike up to as much as 10GB+ which freezes Ubuntu with 16GB RAM. Resuming from suspension has a higher probability of causing memory spikes, but not always. Screenshots attached to show 2 mild spikes I experienced in the last hour.
