Under security FF will not show me pw's to other sites that were previously saved. I get a box with my photo and name and it asks for the pw. I yesterday changed it successfully but when using the new pw, it says it's incorrect. I need to know pw's when I need it and it no longer allows me access and doesn't recognize me. Can not continue to be locked out of my own account/browser/computer. Never happened like this before as it always seemed to know it was me. This latest version is not working the same. How can I fix this?

Hello getg,

What you are seeing may be the latest feature after the update to Firefox 76.0 :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/lockwise-password-authentication-prompt

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In case you don't want to see this prompt every time:

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter.
(ignore the warning)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled

Change its value to false.

Then close and restart Firefox.

(this preference may be removed sometime in the near future )

First, BIG THANKS. Worked easily. No follow on problems. My comment would be, that since this was not a default from previous versions, it should not have been a default now. Better to offer it and let us decide for ourselves. That said, it is most appreciated to get the right answer and how fast you sent the reply. Gary
