Does the automatic update to Version 63.0 on a computer running Windows 10 ask for a password?
My mother had this update and it asked her for a password. But I've never seen a Firefox update do that. I'm worried that she got hacked.

Firefox should not be asking for a password until one is needed. Are you/she using a Master Password option?

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
