I was able to add my own script to handle downloaded files before, but since Quantum I can only choose programs from list. Is it impossible now?
I used my own script to handle some types of files downloaded. It was easy to do before Quantum - just use "Browse..." button, and find your script. However, since I updated to 60.1.0esr (64-bit) my old settings are lost, and I can't make the same operation again because now Firefox only offers a list of installed applications, and I don't see any option to add there something. No "Browse..." anymore.

Hi Feiuac, I still see "Browse" at the bottom left of the dialog in Firefox 61 on Windows 7. Example screenshot attached.
You mentioned using the ESR version. Is it "managed" by an IT department that might have tweaked the configuration?
Depending on screen dimensions, some of the Preferences/Options page dialogs may be truncated, so if you don't see the bottom row of buttons, use the "grippy" in the lower right corner to expand the dialog, or reduce the zoom level on the page (e.g., hold down Ctrl and tap the - key once or twice), or both.

Before, I believe, it was possible to do it right from the Download dialog. Your way (via Preferences) sort of works (I can browse), but the list of content types doesn't contain the one I need, so now the trouble is that I don't see how to add a new content type there. Not sure, if I should open another topic for this.
I see, when I try Open > Other... in the download dialog, I get a program list but there's still a Browse button. (Screenshot attached) Yours doesn't have that button any more?
I wonder if there is a settings difference somewhere, or whether it's a Windows/BSD difference.
Regretfully, mine doesn't have the button. There's a lot of options if searched by "download" in about:config, but, at least on the first glance, I can't find anything relevant.
Maybe, non-Windows version is really different in this regard.
It's not easy for me to test other OS versions, but if there is a support site for BSD users, there might be some intelligence there.
