My internet speed isn't great, and this browser keeps downloading stuff EVEN WHEN I HAVE NO ADDITIONAL TABS OPEN or they're idle.

I have "never install for updates" enabled and I'm very close to uninstalling this browser for good. Let me know why I should stay.

Hi, by not installing updates you miss on fixes and improvements and security as per : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/

Please check your system for malware : You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista if you don't already have one. Windows 8/10 have antivirus protection built-in.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I appreciate the stereotypical reply tailored to the lowest common denominator but no, I'm using tcpview.exe and it's firefox doing these connections. I thank the above poster for the more thorough answer even though he only shared a link.

You are quite welcome for the stereotypical reply. Knowledge and experience were the 2nd posters benefit, as would have knowing you were running tcpview in your question would have helped me. As Volunteer Support you would be surprised at how often that stereotypical answer seems to hit the mark.

Please mark the solution that helped solve your issue please. Thanks.
