Can I restore the "pin wheel" waiting animation?

I'm not sure I'm using the right terminology.

Whenever Firefox Quantum is working on a task (e.g., loading a page), it shows a little dot pinging back and forth to the left of the URL field. I realize most will consider this trivial, but it is driving me crazy! I just can't stand it!

Is there some way to restore the old "pinwheel" animation instead? I'm on a late 2009 Mac running macOS 10.13.1 (High Sierra) and Firefox 67.0.
