how did Firefox ESR 52.0.2 get on my computer?

more options

I have a iMac and on version 10.12.4. Have used Firefox for years and when it said need to update notice that it was not just Firefox but Firefox ESR version 52.0.2. I can tell you I have no reason to use the ESR version plus not smart enough to put it on my computer. How do I get back to the basic Firefox?

被選擇的解決方法

There was a temporary 24-hour glitch last Wednesday evening to Thursday evening when Firefox 52.0.2 users were offered the ESR release instead of Firefox 53.0. You can check the date of your update on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, can you find a Show Update History button?

In deciding to switch consider whether you need to use any plugins other than Flash? The regular release no longer supports them but ESR does.

I'm a Windows person, so I'm not the best to advise on the specifics of switching versions. I believe it involves trashing the current app and then installing the new one, but please don't take my work for it.

You can at least check this article: How to download and install Firefox on Mac.

This page has all the Firefox 53.0 installers (scroll down to your preferred language):
