I get a flashing bar near the top of my screen when using FF 48.0.1

I am running FF 48.0.1 on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.9.5. When using FF I sometimes get a narrow flashing bar near the top of the screen. Doesn't happen all the time and not at all with Safari so I don't think it is the Mac. This only started recently. I tried to add a screen shot but got a message the file was too big and I don't know how to reduce the file size.
