How do you exit and return to web page once you have opened and are viewing a pdf?

I can open ad view pdfs just fine. But how do I exit and return to my web page? Do I use th eback button or is there another way?

If you opened the PDF in the same tab as the webpage, you can return to the previous page the same way as you would from any other page - the Back button, Backspace, or any other button you may have set up for that purpose.

If you opened the PDF in a new tab, you can close the tab.

Firefox's built-in PDF viewer ("pdf.js") is not a separate app, it is a special webpage that is able to display PDF files.
