I have windows xp I go into control panel > install/uninstall > Mozilla firefox in list > click on uninstall > it does nothing but highlight , I wait but nothing. When I try to load firefox I get an error sound but nothing more. This happened after I installed latest update a few days ago. So I did system restore, but it did not fix problem. I did unrestore of last restore, but problem stayed. I have since installed chrome and I think it is more suitable for my use and would like to ;uninstall firefox at this stage perhaps in future when I get new computer will go back to ffox

To make sure I am understood. Firefox would not load after last update install. JUst clunky error sound. No luck with it as said in last post

More info. I have just remembered, I did also try to reinstall firefox completely but got same error, it has cost me money as that took me over monthly internet limit. Not happy with that but cannot do much about it now

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
