I took over this Mac, running 10.8 from a previous coworker. I first deleted all cookies, history, bookmarks etc. They were still there. Every time I go to Facebook, gmail, and several other sites it auto fills her username and password. I then deleted ever file or folder I could find, including firefox from applications and emptied the trash. It still has all her bookmarks, usernames and passwords. In addition, there are constantly pop up adds and other malware that I can't get rid of. Again, I deleted the firefox icon from applications and emptied the trash, and searched for all Mozilla and Firefox files from the computer by using spotlight to find them. Yet it still has all my previous coworkers usernames, passwords, and the Malware. What can I do?

Hi, please see - Uninstall Firefox from your computer.

To reinstall, only do it from mozilla.org since from other sites it may come bundled with unwanted junk.

If there is malware on your system as well, try running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

As I said, I followed the uninstall instruction already. I installed again from Mozilla.org. Also your link "antimalware for mac" is no good

You can find the Firefox profile folder here:

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.

You can create a new profile.

See "Creating a profile":
