Most compatible browser to run with Firefox. Avast needed Chrome, I have now AVG & am considering their full protection if it will be compatible w the updates

Firefox is the browser I prefer to use, not any others. When I used Avast's sandbox to handle my financial business, make orders, etc. it would not load from Firefox without problems. It has been awhile, so I can't really describe further, but it would not import websites until I downloaded Chrome. I have changed from Avast and am using a Trial version of AVG, considering their Ultimate to support computer performance as well, but I would like to know if you recommend this to probably work with Firefox...and any other info you might share. . . Also, I read that Firefox has built in protection. What does this mean? Thank you. I will not be able to respond until Monday 12th because of my work schedule, but I appreciate your recommendations and any info you might share to help me best keep my computer clear, simple, protected, and smoothly operating Firefox w/ internet protection. Also would like to know how to donate since the option is no longer showing up when Firefox starts. Thank you

All antivirus works good with firefox but still you can have mcaffee or kasper's key(which i use my self) or Norton if you regularly have a system connected to a internet connection then you can also get a cloud antivirus which stores all the major files on its cloud server and detects virus and other threats using them and not putting any kind of storage burden on your system(Norton and Avg both have this for free and really works very well). All three works perfectly with firefox without any problem. There are free version of Avg too. Firefox has a built in protection means that it helps to prevent from sharing your data or any thing else that you use over internet. The Firefox contains a built-in Phishing and Malware Protection to help keep you safe online. These features will warn you when a page you visit has been reported as a Web Forgery of a legitimate site (sometimes called “phishing” pages) or as an Attack Site designed to harm your computer (otherwise known as malware). This feature also warns you if you download files that are harmful or not. But still better have an antivirus you never know how and where it will help you. Hope you got your answer and let us know if the problem still disturbs you.

IMO the biggest problem with some / most Security Suites is the silly add-ons that they insists on installing for web browsers; add-ons that in many cases just duplicate features that are already built into Firefox.

I have been using Avira Free Antivirus - http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus - for many years, mainly because it doesn't install any add-ons for Firefox.
