Problem while checking for updates in Intex Cloud FX
I followed the steps to check for updates: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-check-firefox-os-updates-and-install-them?esab=a&as=aaq
But every time I do that I get an error saying "There was an error when checking for updates." I am connected to WiFi, and I tried the solution provided here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/967817, but it did not work. Also, the OS Version says Intex_Cloud_FX_V07

Hi jbupit, Thank you for your question and congratulations on your new phone! I understand that you have followed the instructions to check for updates. As far as my knowledge, there are currently no updates for the Intex Cloud Fx and that version 1.3 is the most up to date version for this phone.
If you have any questions concerning updates, please contact the place of purchase or the carrier of the device.
Thank you!

Yes, the Intex website does say that the phone has v1.3 installed. (http://www.intexmobile.in/product_detail.aspx?PID=191&PCatID=3#)
But in the settings it says that the software version installed is Intex_cloud_FX_V07, and the update channel is release-spreadtrum. Does it mean the Intex uses its customized version of the OS? If so, how do I switch to the un-customized version.
Hi John Bupit,
The OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) develop and release device-specific builds of Firefox OS.
In this specific case, Intex optimized and modified the Firefox OS code for the Intex Cloud Fx device. Intex also manages the release of new updates, so you may find more information about this device-specific issue by contacting the Customer Support department for Intex directly.
You may also try doing a system reset on your device.
Warning: Resetting your phone will delete all data stored on the device, including apps, calendar data, email accounts, and settings.
To reset the device, follow these instructions:
- Open the Settings application.
- Tap on the Device Information button.
- Tap on the More Information button.
- Tap on the Reset phone button.
- Tap OK to reset your device.
I hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your new Firefox OS device! =)
Thanks,
- Ralph
Hi. I don't think that the original version of the OS will be installed by resetting the phone. Intex's optimizations and modifications will still remain. Or will they?
after reseting the phone, the logo of the vendor (cosmote) still shows on startup, and i get the "system already up to date" message. It's a one touch fire 1.3.0.0 talking with cosmote didnt work: "if you wanted another firmware, why did you buy this one?"
update channel: release-tcl-DT-GR can i change this one to get the update?
I have tried the resetting but it did not work. Further, I do not get the message 'system already up to date' as 'pata' gets. Also, the OS Version says Intex_Cloud_FX_V07, in my case also. So nothing seems to work. Does no updating make the device more vulnerable?
Hi scagarwal,
It appears that patata has a different device than yours, and this is why he is getting a different message.
Intex is the manufacturer of the Intex Cloud FX devices, and they are responsible for releasing updates. Please contact Intex for specific information about updates and new releases for your Firefox OS device.
Thanks,
- Ralph
