What happens if you disable that Web Filter?

Please note that user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder

or

  • Go to about:support and click Show Folder next to Profile Directory.

Thanks for the information, but I am not computer literate enough to decipher it, sorry. I tried the link you put up, but just got the same message again.

I feel this would be better with a screenshot so we can see what the hell is actually happening. Can you give me a screenshot so I know what you're seeing? Please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem? to create a screenshot
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Also, like I mentioned before, you have a user.js file active on Firefox. This isn't there by default and chances are you probably didn't even know you had this. Delete this file (user.js) and delete the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to your Profile Folder by typing about:support into Firefox's Address Bar then click the button that says Open Directory. A new Windows Explorer window will open up, search for user.js and/or prefs.js and simply delete them with Firefox closed down. See my screenshot to see what your profile folder should look like.
