Why do you "upgrade," with exclusions, e.g., for Norton Vulnerability?

more options

The listed question is self-explanatory. I like Firefox - which is faster than IE-whatever, but I DO NOT like receiving "upgrades" which will limit or preclude my anti-virus and anti-spyware applications. Why can't you resolve the "plug-in" issues BEFORE "upgrading."

And, furthermore, whence your geniuses? I've tried, twice, without success, to create an account, and each time, you report that my password isn't valid. Well, my passwords [two different tries] WERE valid - I double-checked them. Wha's'amattah you?

Since the Norton toolbar is a paid product distributed by Symantec, the Firefox update checker that updates add-ons isn't able to get the update for you. That would be nice, but unlikely for a commercial product.

hello, adapting the compatibility of addons is always the responsibility of the third-party developer that is providing them (and makes you pay for it in norton's case).

according to symantec their toolbar is compatible with firefox 22 already though. please run the norton liveupdate repeatedly & until all components are up-to-date. in addition make sure that the toolbar is enabled under firefox > addons > extension afterwards.

First, a Firefox update will disable incompatible add-ons, but it doesn't disable any anti-virus application or true anti-spyware applications.

Typically, Norton releases the updated version of their Firefox add-ons within a couple of hours after Mozilla releases the latest version of Firefox. But sadly Norton doesn't update their Firefox add-ons automatically, the user has to use the Live Update button to get the updated versions, sometimes it takes repeated Live Update "pushes" to receive the updated add-ons. I guess Norton has "some fixin' to do" to make the process less painful for their users.
