I have seen this asked many times in previous builds of FFox, and yet the only "solution" that I see is "wait for the new release." Well, I am on the newest public build (19.0.2). For example, there were issues with this on build 12, someone said it should be fixed on 13.

Well, on 19 I cannot drag an image into the image editing software Pixelmator. This is making things much slower for me, as I now have to save the image to the desktop, and then drag the desktop file into pixelmator. There is one additional step that I shouldn't need to be taking.

I use Firefox on Ubuntu and occasionally on Windows. I may be able to move tabs and create a new window or a link but I can not do that with images.

Not sure I am aware of any plans to change this to add a feature allowing images to be dragged to a desktop and can say that it is not on the experimental versions 21 & 22 that I use.

Add a comment in the input feedback if you wish https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback but there is no point in asking on this forum for an enhancement, developers do not look at this forum for such information.

Not really asking for an enhancement per-se. Maybe there is some setting that I can alter, I do not know. I can drag an image to other applications (itunes, transmission, xld, etc for example), just not pixelmator. I can also drag an image to the desktop in order to save it.

Oops! Sorry I am wrong. I can drag images off Firefox.

But that leaves you with no answer..
