The RK27xx that I am familiar with was used more for the PMP players (besides the SC9800/SC8600/F16 chipsets) before the craze of the smart PMP (4.3-5.0" PMP form with Android but no wifi) and tablets came about and pushed the good PMPs production away.

Even if it did have Android 2.1.+ I would say it would not run the mobile Firefox due to not being a ARMv7 type of cpu.

Hi jules3677,

I can't seem to find any information about the software that runs on the ebook reader. Is it android?

There is a list of devices supported by firefox for mobile here. The EB720 is not on it. Firefox for mobile may also work on other android devices (2.1 and above).

If the software on the reader is not android then I am afraid the answer is No.

I hope that helps.

Nobody seems to list any details about the cpu it uses which can make a big difference whether mobile Firefox will work or not and besides it does not seem to use Android?.

Based on the PDF user manual (p29), it uses the Rockchip RK2738 processor. The company's spec sheet says the CPU is "ARM9+DSP", which sounds promising. However, the EB720 manual never mentions Android, much less apps, so it might be quite limited in what it will run.

sorry just looked in the booklet. it states the CPU speed is 560MHz with CPU type RK2738
