Why do some websites display fine in IE but in Firefox I'm only getting a basic, text-only view where nothing works (including the Mozilla home page!)

Don;t know why but websites/pages that display fine in IE display as basic text-only in Firefox, including the Mozilla home page as a perfect example (if anythign shoudl display correctly in Firefox it ought to be this one!). I know it must be a settign somewhere that's preventing the web page displaying properly but I can't figure out what it could be.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
