Some pages on certain websites appear as plain text eg bank when logged in. This doesn't happen when using Internet Explorer and has only recently started with Firefox.

This particularly occurs when going into eg a bank site or just recently HMRC website. The site looks ok on its home page but as soon as i log on all i get is the words and am unable to navigate further.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
