Several of my internet downloads went to 'firefox downloads' and I can't see how to move them elsewhere.

Hi,

On the 'Downloads' window right click an entry and choose 'Open Containing Folder'. This will open the folder where the downloaded file was stored and you can copy it to the desired place / device.

Choosing 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'General' shows you the path to the folder where Firefox is saving the downloads but doesn't open the folder itself. You can see the downloads folder path near the entry 'Save files to' around the middle of the window. If the full path is not visible, click 'browse'. Here you can also change the location where Firefox is saving the downloads. For example you could change it to your removable storage, if the device is attached and always available.

I tried your suggestions at 5:40p.m. The 2nd. part had prompts which didn't come up on my screen. This could be because I'm running windows xp 2002 with sp 3. I don't know but between posting my plea & seeing your answer I found a way to select firefox to 'always ask where to save download to'. This saves half of the problem I suppose. Thanks for your help nevertheless. Specifically the entry 'Save files to' didn't appear.
