Whenever I right click on links, Firefox shows the menu but then opens the link in a new tab just after I right click.

This also happens to the tabs. Whenever I right click on a tab, it shows the tab menu, but closes the tab itself, making my right-clicking on the tab useless.

How do I fix this?

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
