I can't open links in new tabs, only in new windows.

I can't open any links in new tabs without holding the link and dragging it to the tag menu or opening a blank new tab and copying the link location and pasting it in the new tab.

ctrl+click which should open a new tab opens a new window. Right click + Open Link in New Tab which should open a new tab open a new window.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
