Firefox wont let me browse. It will start up, but wont connect to websites. IE will however.

Hi, I am a very loyal firefox user. Have even installed it on friends computers and got them hooked, especially since the new release of 4.0. However, the other day, my browser just stoped loading pages completely. My internet connection is fine, and now wired through my personal trouble shooting. At that time IE woulnd't even connect where firefox would, but just wouldn't show anything on any page, just be blank and say its connected to the site. I went and used Verizon wireless in home agent and fixed my connection apparently, and IE started working. Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, still the same, blank pages. I HATE IE with a passion, and want to be back surfing the net with firefox ASAP. I'm pretty good with computers for just an average guy, but I can't seem to figure this problem out. Help? Thanks in advance, firefox is the greatest! Just get it working again please.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
