On a Mac you can find it here:

  • Firefox -> Preferences -> General - > When Firefox starts: [ Show my windows and tabs from last time \/ ]

You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

HELP....tried this does not work. I found a link in a forum to go to the about:config and change the false to true....the only thing is only one option setting was there which was "True" and I could not locate the other settings such as brower:saveOnClose etc etc....HELP.....

...and if you have Windows/XP... what do you do?

For Windows// Tools > Options> General> When FireFox Starts: > Show my Windows and Tabs from last time

I tried all this & it's still not saving my tabs.. no pop up window asking me to save either. It just closes. This is frustrating, firefox should just make a patch to make this work.

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.

There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

Another possibility is to use:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.
