I did all the suggestions but nothing worked. How I do fix the problem?
The bookmarks and history system
will not be functional because
one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem,I have followed all the suggestions and nothing seems to help. How I do I fix the problem? I can not view any bookmarks, and I still have the error.

I would also recommend you update your Firefox version. Yours is pretty ancient one.
Download the latest installer from http://www.getfirefox.com/ or select "Check for updates" from "Help" menu (more info: Update Firefox to the latest release).

I did all what was on the suggested article. I also update firefox and checked for updates. I still have the problem.
What else can I do????
You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See [[Basic Troubleshooting|#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting:Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions".
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files). See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
