Check https://piunikaweb.com/2026/08/14/firefox-x-images-videos-not-loading/ for details, but basically xTwitter/Melon messed again with their latest update.

Any word from those in the know yet? Having to use different browsers to see multi-pic posts is really annoying.

When this wasn't working in either Firefox, or the two forks; Floorp or Zen, I tried in Vivaldi (Chromium fork), and they displayed fine. The images also displayed fine in Firefox until one signed into "X", then the new format kicked in, and the images rendered as lines again. That says to me that the formatting code is either wrong, and Chromium doesn't care, or Firefox is not interpreting the valid formatting as well as Chromium does. I'll be curious as to which way this goes.

I hope this gets fixed quickly, the last "update" is annoying enough as is.

This is also broken in WebKit — apparently something Xitter needs to fix or roll back.

"Twitter said they're working on a fix that should roll out soon."

Well, that's something at least. -_-

As of about 5 hours ago, I am not seeing this issue any more. It would seem that they (X/Twitter) have addressed the issue; fixing the code I guess. Maybe the last change didn't get tested adequately enough before going live.
