Firefox keeps crashing.
I finally found the solution! With help from my friends at Dell Computers, that is. The crash was due to the C: drive becoming overloaded with data. On advice, I purchased an USB portable hard drive and moved all the data not needed to be on the C:\ drive. It would be nice to have more than "common sense" to decide which files and folders are needed to run the computer nicely. If there is a book or manual that can list this for me, I'd buy it and check regularly. The computer now runs nearly like a new one and I'll be looking for a while before upgrading. Note that USB hard drives are relatively inexpensive, but need to be treated similar to the way most USB drives are (Don't just plug or unplug while the data is flowing). Storing unused files will pay off so that you don't get caught having to clean house at a very busy time. Enjoy...

When you install programmes there is usually an option. You can even keep the USB plugged in and store there.
In Windows there is a user folder, with maybe your name. Generally, unless you direct otherwise, your documents and downloads are stored there. Even your Firefox profile is there . . .

We did discover that the "C:" drive was catching a lot of saved copies of files and data. I have an USB hard drive (large) that we transferred a lot of information to. That opened a lot of space on the "C:" drive that the programs routinely drop information onto. It also helps preserve information in a more organized manner. I still do NOT use the cloud drives as the companies that run them are not as careful as I'd like with preserving information we entrust to them. The USB Hard Drives are not large, maybe at the size of a pack of 3X5 cards. Just treat them like any memory device and don't unplug them without going through the recommended protected procedures. Better yet, they are a LOT less costly than those cloud drives. In a quality fireproof safe (from Costco, etc.)., they are likely safe from the environment. Thanks for your input. --Fred
