Not receiving messages on my desktop
I use Thunderbird on my desktop and since early June, I have not been able to receive any new messages but I can still send. Everything works fine on webmail (Yahoo) and phone (Samsung Galaxy), it's just my desktop which is affected . I asked Duck AI about this and this is what I got...
I tried the solutions offered without success.

yahoo can be unstable.
If you happen to update to 153 and are using oauth authentication: 1. In Thunderbird > Settings > Config Editor make mailnews.oauth.usePrivateBrowser=true, mailnews.oauth.useSchemeRedirect=false 2. Restart Thunderbird 3. Login

I adjusted my settings as per your instructions but nothing has changed. The script at the bottom of m screen reads 'Downloading message 1 of 374...'

This a wild guess : how important is the first email in the list to be downloaded ? if it's not, then delete it to see what would happen

How do I delete a message that hasn't downloaded yet?

what antivirus are you using? does it scan email?
(I have a feeling this is a POP account and Norton so prove me wrong :))

Via the email's web interface.
That did it! The culprit was appointment confirmation emails coming from my PT's office. Deleting each one of these released the messages that came after. All of these messages included an attachment (Google calendar?) Many thanks Michel

Yeah, Norton's has a exceedingly long history of silently crashing when it encounters a malformed email. No worming, no clue just a cessation of email arriving. The only permanent solution is to stop using Norton or periodically chase down an email to delete. Personally I use Defender as it does not mess with my email at all and gets similar detection rates to the rather expensive products that tend to wreak havoc with email.
